Theme / objective of the study group

The AK16: Aperiodic Crystals of the German Crystallographic Association (DGK) and its members shall serve as forum and contact for all scientists in Germany, who are working in the field of quasicrystals, incommensurate composite crystals, and incommensurately modulated crystals.

Aim of the AK16 is to promote the exchange of ideas and experience in the field of research on aperiodic crystals and to bring it closer to the German crystallographic community. Next to the microsymposia and poster sessions on the annual meetings of the DGK, the AK16 organizes/supports on an irregular basis seminars and workshops, in which the actual state of research is discussed or an introduction in this field of research is given to interested students and young scientists.
