How to reach Bayreuth

By air

Three international airports are within easy reach.

Frankfurt International Airport

From the railway station "Frankfurt Airport" trains go to Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). In Nürnberg you have to change trains to Bayreuth. Total travel time is about 4 hours. 

Nürnberg International Airport

The Underground (U-Bahn) takes you from the airport to the main railway station. There you take the trains to Bayreuth. Total travel time is about 1.5 hours. 

München International Airport

Take the train from München to Nürnberg where you have to change for the train to Bayreuth. Total travel time is about 4 hours. 

By train

In most cases, you travel by train via Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). The express train from Nürnberg to Bayreuth goes every hour between early morning and late evening. A few times per day you can take an ICE.

By car

On the Autobahn A9 (Berlin-München) take exit "`Bayreuth Süd'' and follow the signs to the university.
