We will have four PC-pools available with a total of 69 Pentium PC´s running under the
Windows NT operating system. The location of the different PC-pools can be found here.

The workshop software will be available through the university network for all participants.
For participants bringing a LapTop, CD´s wll be distributed.
An installation guide will be available for everybody.

Most software except for EXPO2000, TOPAS, PC-PDF and PowderSolve
can be downloaded right now through this webpage.
EXPO2000 can be obtained free of
charge upon request following the link.

The participants decide by themselves what programs they want to install and
what exercises they want to perform in which order.

The following software will be used during the workshop for exercises, demonstrations and tutorials:

  • GUFI 5.0 from Robert Dinnebier (shareware, unrestricted version) + tutorial
    ITO from Jan Visser  (freeware, included in the GUFI 5.0 package)
    TREOR from Per-Erik Werner (freeware, included in the GUFI 5.0 package
    DICVOL from Daniel Louer (freeware, included in the GUFI 5.0 package
  • DASH from CCDC + examples (time restricted version, commercial)
  • ENDEAVOUR from CrystalImpact (demo version, commercial)
  • DIAMOND from CrystalImpact (demo version, commercial)
  • EXPO2000 from Carmelo Giacovazzo et al. (freeware)
  • GSAS from Alan Larson & Robert von Dreele (freeware), The workshop tutorial + sample data set can be found here.

Please understand that not every tutor is a secialist for all software and
can be at all places at the same time.
All tutors will try to distribute their time equally to the different PC-Pools,
the following plan should be a guide where to find a specific tutor for the main
time of the afternoon of a specific day:
