 Find Your way to Bayreuth

Bayreuth is easy to reach by air, by train, or by car.

 By air: Three international airports are within easy reach.

  • Frankfurt International Airport
    From Frankfurt International Airport, there are three daily (Monday - Friday) scheduled flights by Lufthansa/Augsburg Airways to Bayreuth and back. Alternatively, use the train from Frankfurt Airport to Nürnberg  Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) and then to Bayreuth.
  • Nürnberg International Airport
    Take public transport (subway) or a taxi to Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof  (Main Station) and then the train to Bayreuth.
  • München International Airport
    Take the train from München to Nürnberg where you have to change  for the train to Bayreuth

By train

In most cases, you will be going via Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof  (Main Station). Take the  express train from Nürnberg to Bayreuth which leaves eleven minutes before the full hour, from 5.49 h in the morning to 23.49 h in the evening. A final connection is availble leaving  Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof at 0.41 h at night.
You may check the train schedule using the railway server of the Deutsche Bahn AG.

If you are younger than 26 years you are eligible to a 20% discount.
Do not forget to mention when purchasing your ticket.

You should check the homepage of the Deutsche Bahn AG for other discounts like the “Good evening ticket” etc.

 By car

On the  Autobahn A9 (Berlin-München) take exit ``Bayreuth Süd'' and follow the signs to the university.
